VELCRO BODIES

This design draws inspiration from the theme of the theatre troupe VELCRO BODIES, combining circus-based physical techniques with theatrical poetics to explore the dynamic relationship between “tearing and adhesion.” The needle symbolizes conflict and precision, while the felt represents softness and enclosure. The overall visual and movement design incorporates the concept of a “knitted tensile texture”—threads being pulled and entwined, symbolizing the delicate yet tension-filled emotional ties between people.

The sound and tactile qualities of Velcro become a form of language, expressing connection and rupture through acts of pulling apart and sticking together. This performance does not pursue perfection; instead, it emphasizes negotiation and emergence, allowing mistakes and uncertainties to become part of the creative process. Within the interwoven imagery of threads and stitches, the audience will witness how softness transforms into strength and experience a poetic experiment co-created by bodies and materials.
